I am not sure if this is what I am supposed to be doing. I am not going to get credit for doing that. Why should I change my workplan? Last time I did what my supervisor asked me to do, my supervisor's Manager called me out for changing the process. I am not buying it- They are just going to change their minds again anyway.... These are just a few employee mindsets represented in workplaces.
A lack of TRUST in the workplace can and will halt progress, decrease productivity, or even worse. A lack of trust in leaders can become the key reason why employees choose to resign.

Trust is a fundamental need all humans have. For where there is trust, one can expect progress and when progress is underway, there's nothing that can't be achieved.

In the workplace, the vitality of the relationships we have is a predictor of individual and team success.  When working with others and struggling with making progress or feel a lack of motivation, there could be a fundamental need missing. Trust. No matter if you are a people manager or an individual contributor, establishing trust is vital to your success, the success of others and, of the business.
How can you begin to build trust?
- Be open and willing to work on the relationship(s). Spend the time.
- Create new positive experiences. Be present. Collaborate with others.
- On a personal level, find ways to connect on things you have in common. Familiarity will fast track    trust building.
- Be honest and get comfort with demonstrating vulnerability.
- Keep and follow through on commitments you make.
- Be consistent. Consistency establishes predictability— Demonstrating predictable behavior is key when establishing trust
